5 Steps of Your Skincare Routine!

How much do we take care of our skin? Do we maintain a Skincare routine?

So many of us, think that cleaning face with the Facewash is the only thing that we can do to keep our skin fresh. But this is a very wrong concept. Some of us use cream or sun protection but that’s also not enough for your skin. So the question is what should we do to take proper care of our skin?

There are some really basic kinds of stuff in the skin care routine. Which type of product you should use or not for your skin, depends on your skin type.

Dry, Oily, Sensitive or Combination are the types of skin. So you need to know what is the type of your skin!

Now, whatever skin type you have you must follow the basic routine.

  1. Cleansing
  2. Exfoliation
  3. Toning
  4. Moisturizing
  5. Protection

For keeping your skin fresh and healthy you must follow these steps! It really doesn’t matter you’re young, old, male or female you must do these things.


So, cleansing is basically removing makeup and cleaning your face with cleanser and water. There many types of cleanser like- foam, gel, milk, lotion etc. What type of cleanser you should choose depends on your skin type. If you have dry skin you should avoid Foam Cleansing because that will make your skin drier. If you have oily skin avoid milk cleanser. So what cleanser will suit you most that depends on your skin type. Every day you should clean your skin 2 times a day.


Now comes to exfoliation. The natural life cycle of our cell is 28 days. So to remove the dead cell from your skin surface you need to exfoliate your skin. Excess dead cells block your pores and that causes breakouts, pimple, blackheads etc.

How often should we exfoliate our skin? Minimum once a week is okay but average 3 times a week is good. Not more than that.


The third step is toning. So what is toning? Why should we use a toner? As we know PH is a balance between acid and alkaline and the neutral of PH scale is 7. Sometimes because of cleanser, the PH gets changed so toner fixes the PH level and brings it to a neutral level. Moreover, it prepares your skin for moisturizer. It hydrates and detoxifies your skin too.


The fourth step is to moisturize your skin. There are many types of moisturizer. Like- serum, hydrating lotion, emulsion, cream etc. 

So what to put first? Go by the density or texture of the product. Like liquid and then cream. Use serum first and then cream. While moisturizing never forget your eyes. Use eye cream or gel that suits your skin type. You should moisturize your skin daily.


Lastly protection, which is the most important one. If you don’t protect your skin then what other steps you have done will be wasted. Don’t use anything more than SPF 50. So do use sun protection before going out.

So the summary is you should maintain a daily skin care routine for the healthy, fresh and glowing skin!
